Bio
Karen Milstein is an author, certified peer specialist (CPS), and amateur linguist who has a lengthy history of being involved in the psychiatric system. She completed a BA in Linguistics and German from the University of Michigan. She has tread on both sides of the mental health system’s fence: as consumer and provider for about three decades. She has written extensively about her experiences, in newsletters, on Facebook, in classes, and in her upcoming memoir Mapping the Mind Across Borders: A Mental Health Memoir. Karen is passionate about life, human nature, and language. Karen lives in Madison, Wisconsin.
